Solugen’s mission is to decarbonize chemicals manufacturing. As a first step, Solugen has built a 10,000 tpy first commercial plant with the potential to offset up to 37,000 tpy of carbon dioxide equivalents. This role will directly support Solugen’s mission by providing hands-on help for end users solving desktop issues in real time. The candidate will work directly with Solugen's Managed Service Provider (MSP) and his/her supervisor to define and prioritize daily tasks, focusing first on the most critical items. This person must have a basic general technical expertise to support the Solugen employees, including IT infrastructure, cyber security, and standard applications support. The candidate is expected to be able to interact with any stakeholders in person, by phone, by video conference, and by Slack. In addition to daily hands-on support of business users the candidate will work specific longer-term projects to support the improvement of the Solugen IT infrastructure.

Responsibilities / Key Outcomes

  • Work alongside Solugen's MSP and senior IT team members to resolve business user issues at the Tier 1 & 2 level
  • Provide deskside assistance to business users alone or along with Solugen's MSP
  • Troubleshoot and make repairs on equipment such as laptops, peripherals, other external devices
  • Support business user connectivity issue troubleshooting and resolution
  • Provide software support of Solugen standard software stack for both Windows and Mac-based operating systems
  • Participate on teams to define and implement continuous improvement projects for the IT infrastructure

  • Ideal candidate must be attentive and engaged in learning new IT concepts and perfecting old concepts
  • Install equipment and software to meet business user needs
  • Perform troubleshooting in both deskside and remote settings
  • Assist with the maintenance of business user devices
  • Assist with the provisioning of company laptops and the Joiner/Mover/Leaver (JML) processes of business users
  • Train business users on the use of company devices and software
  • Perform password resets and account creation within Active Directory
  • Must operate within a designated security framework provided by senior staff and follow all policy and guidelines as they pertain to utilizing administrator credentials
  • Perform all other tasks as assigned under the Tier 1 & 2 umbrella of support
  • Proactively look for opportunities to improve Solugen's IT systems and propose possible solutions
  • Regular travel to all Solugen locations in order to perform IT service installation, repair, and general support will be required

  • Work experience or relevant certifications in an IT-related field
  • 1+ year of experience that can be demonstrated to the hiring manager as job related knowledge and proficiency
  • CompTIA A+ or higher certification is a plus
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in an IT or technology related field is a plus
  • Proficiency with installation and repair of business user systems and software
