Key Outcomes

  • Assist the Director of Accounting with period end close activities as defined by the recurring close schedule and as assigned by the Director of Accounting
  • Assist with accounting for cash – including movements of cash within our accounts, monthly reconciliations, and monitoring accounts for unusual activity
  • Check cash balances weekly and work with the Financial Planning & Analysis team on projections of cash flows – incoming cash projections, outgoing cash projections and if any accounts used by the company will need to be replenished
  • Maintain clear and easily accessible support materials for cash management, including monthly statements, reconciliations in Blackline and any reporting of activity for management purposes
  • Assist with recording investment activities of the company in our Morgan Stanley accounts, including the split of activities for the cash account and the investment account separately. Further, maintain and reconcile the different categories of cash and cash equivalents on the company’s balance sheet. Consult with Financial Reporting team as necessary to be aligned on outcomes
  • Assist with fixed asset accounting, including reviewing all coding for purchase orders or contracts that will generate fixed assets, work closely with project specific support staff
  • Manage the fixed asset accounting process within NetSuite, clearing assets into service monthly, writing off assets as they are either retired or replaced, confirming depreciation details on individual asset classes, maintaining detailed reconciliation of the fixed asset subledger to the general ledger
  • Assist Engineering and other teams with capital projects on understanding the project’s financial position – approved amounts, committed amounts, paid amounts. Test frequently that there are not significant changes to the project and that the accounting treatment of the activities is accurate.
  • Document any usual situations in fixed assets and get agreement from the Financial Reporting team on accounting treatment
  • Assist with reconciliation of non-cash balance sheet accounts as assigned using Blackline
  • Assist with accounting for sales/use, property and other taxes, including preparing filings for review by management
  • Consult and assist the leaders of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable with projects of common interest
  • Cross train with other members of the finance team to provide backfill potential during vacations, holidays, sick time, etc.
  • Any other duties or activities as assigned by management

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from a four year university
  • Seven to ten years’ experience in a professional setting, less if candidate has a Master’s Degree
  • Experience with NetSuite or other similar medium to large size ERP
  • Reliable personal transportation
